What this site does not do

This website consists of static pages. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics, no audience measurement and no tracking, and loads no fonts, maps, videos or scripts from third-party servers. There is no contact form, no sign-up and no user account.

Opening a page contacts the delivery network of our hosting provider and nothing else (see “Hosting”). No consent is therefore required, and there is no consent banner.

Server log files

When a page is requested, our hosting provider records what delivery technically produces: IP address, date and time, the address requested, the HTTP status code, the volume of data transferred, the referring page and the browser identification.

Purpose is delivery of the page, operational security and defence against attacks. Legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in secure and undisturbed operation.

Retention: in our account with the hosting provider, request logs can no longer be viewed after one day. How long the provider itself keeps them for security purposes is set by the provider; its privacy notice gives no fixed period. They are not combined with other data, and no profiling takes place.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA, and served through its global delivery network. A request is usually answered by a data centre near you. Vercel's primary processing takes place in the United States.

A data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR is in place with Vercel. Transfers to the United States rely on the adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Article 45 GDPR), under which Vercel is certified, and in addition on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Decision 2021/914, Article 46 GDPR).

Contact by e-mail

If you write to us, we process your details in order to handle the enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns a contract, otherwise Article 6(1)(f).

The details are deleted once the matter is settled and no statutory retention obligations stand in the way.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (16), erasure (17), restriction of processing (18), data portability (20) and objection to processing (21). Please use the address given above.

Independently of that, you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority is:
Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen
Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany
